We were delighted to welcome students from Ashfield Girls’ High School to East Belfast Enterprise recently as part of a visit organised in partnership with Young Enterprise NI.
The visit gave students a valuable insight into the world of entrepreneurship, what it takes to start and grow a business, and the role enterprise agencies play in supporting people at every stage of their business journey. Our team spoke about the range of support available through East Belfast Enterprise, including one-to-one mentoring, business planning, workshops, training programmes and flexible workspace for start-ups and growing businesses.
During the visit, students also had the opportunity to hear directly from local entrepreneurs about their own business journeys. Juliana, City East tenant and owner of marketing firm Yellow Zest, shared her experience of building a business from the ground up and offered a real-world perspective on the challenges, creativity and determination involved in becoming an entrepreneur.
A highlight of the day was a visit to one of our tenants at our Albertbridge Road site, Papa’s Mineral Co. The team at Papa’s gave students insight into how their business has developed, spoke about the realities of running a growing company, and kindly provided product samples, which were very well received by the group.
It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to see first-hand how business ideas become reality and to meet the people behind successful local enterprises. We hope the visit has helped spark new ideas, build confidence and encourage the next generation of young entrepreneurs to think big about their future.
