Supporting businesses in East Belfast since 1995
Business East was established in 1995 (under the name East Belfast Enterprise Ltd) to provide incubation workspace and training/mentoring initiatives to support new and established businesses in the local area. The company has developed from its original focus providing support in the local area and now works for the benefit of businesses across Belfast and beyond, through a partnership approach with other organisations.
The company is limited by guarantee and is a registered charity, Charity Number: NIC103061. It is governed by a Board of 6 voluntary Directors. The Directors come from a range of specialist backgrounds and deliver strategic support and direction for the Agency on such themes as Accountancy, HR, Community Involvement, Operations, Property and Business Strategy and development.
Business East currently employs 6 staff and works regularly with a range of associates and consultants to deliver projects and business support initiatives, providing value and services to the local area.
The company is also a member of Enterprise Northern Ireland, which is the association of enterprise agencies in Northern Ireland. Enterprise Northern Ireland aims to improve the provision of support to start-up and established micro businesses in Northern Ireland by providing a cohesive and collective approach and by working closely with other partner organisations and government agencies. We help individuals to start up in business across a wide range of sectors and support the growth of established enterprises.
In an average year, we assist over 200 individuals and businesses via entrepreneurship training, mentoring and ongoing advice and support.
