East Belfast Enterprise is now a JAM Card Friendly Business

We’re proud to announce that East Belfast Enterprise is now officially recognised as a JAM Card Friendly Business.

This recognition comes after working with the NOW Group, the social enterprise behind the JAM Card.

The JAM Card is powerful tool which is used to help individuals with learning difficulties, autism, or communication barriers to discreetly request “Just A Minute” of patience in everyday interactions. By supporting the JAM Card we are helping to improve the customer service experience across both our sites.

We are delighted to welcome East Belfast Enterprise as a JAM Card Partner. By completing JAM Card training and committing to inclusivity, they are helping to create a more understanding business community where everyone feels respected and supported.

Nicola Tipping, JAM Card Business Development Manager

We’re always looking for ways to make our spaces and services more accessible. This step was led internally by our team as part of our commitment to inclusion and our ongoing support for the Belfast Promise. Becoming JAM Card Friendly is one way we can ensure that everyone who visits or works with us feels respected and understood.

“We believe in building a better community through action. Supporting the JAM Card initiative is one way we can ensure our services are inclusive and welcoming for all.”

Jonathan McAlpin, Chief Executive of East Belfast Enterprise

As part of the process, members of our team have completed training to better understand the challenges some people face and how we can respond in a helpful and respectful way.

You’ll now see the JAM Card logo displayed at reception, and we’ve added it to our website. For us, this isn’t a badge – it’s a small change that can make a big difference. We’d like to thank the team at the NOW Group for their support. You can learn more about the JAM Card and the difference it makes at www.jamcard.org.
